With heavy hearts and enduring love, we remember Zachary Alexander Burdette, who passed away far too soon on August 10, 2026, at the age of 30. Born on September 4, 1995, Zachary’s journey was defined by warmth, adventure, and an unfailing devotion to family, friends, and his community.

Known for his impish smile and gentle spirit, Zachary—Zach to those closest to him—found his greatest joys in the simple pleasures of life. He relished the peacefulness of riverbanks, the thrill of a four-wheeling trail, and the soothing routine of casting a line as ripples spread across the water. Nature wasn’t just scenery for Zach; it was a source of reflection and connection—a place where he could gather himself and, more often than not, bring along those he cherished most. Yet, Zach’s most profound contentment came from togetherness. Whether spending a quiet evening watching movies or swimming or watching the river, with his wife, Jennifer.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Nee Small) Hall Burdette of Marietta, children: Bryson and Lincoln and Natalie Burdette of Spencer, and step-children: Addison, Asher, and Amia Hall of South Williamson, WV; his mother, Nicole (Nee Fleshman) McKown, his father, Daniel Burdette, II, his two brothers, Nathan and Seth Burdette, all of Charleston, WV, sister Hannah (Matthew) Mangum of Concord, NC; Grandparents: Bill and the late Eleanor Fleshman, Sandy and Dan Burdette, and Debra Gibeaut, all of Charleston, WV; and mother and father in law, Roger and Mary Small of Williamson, WV.

His kindness was effortless and genuine. Zach was the first to offer a hand and the last to leave a task unfinished when someone needed help. It didn’t matter if you were a longtime friend or a new acquaintance; for Zach, connecting with others through conversation and acts of service came naturally. The warmth and sincerity he extended made everyone feel welcomed and valued.

Zachary's faith was an important part of his life, shining brightest in his generous involvement with his church and unwavering eagerness to help others. Church activities were not merely routine for Zachary—they were a calling to serve and an opportunity to build a sense of community that brought him just as much fulfillment as it did those fortunate enough to experience his fellowship.

A memorial service honoring Zachary’s life will be held at Reno Christian Church, 27220 State Route 7, Marietta, on August 26, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Zach are invited to join in sharing memories and celebrating a life defined by love, humility, and boundless generosity.

Though Zachary Alexander Burdette’s presence is deeply missed, the echoes of his laughter, kindness, and abiding love will continue to enrich the lives of all who knew him.
