Samuel W. Jarrell
July 26,1938 - March 10, 2026
Resident of Franklin Furnace
F.C. Daehler Mortuary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samuel W. Jarrell, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, who left us on March 10, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on July 26, 1938, in Kenova, West Virginia, Sam lived a life rich with love, adventure, and the joy of family.
Sam is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia A. Jarrell; his son, Paul Edward Jarrell (Dorothy) of Bay City, Oregon; his daughter, Jeri Lynn Glenn (Ralph) of Franklin Furnace; and his cherished sister, Susan "Sue" Kathryn Stolzenbach (John) of Yakima, Washington. He will be dearly missed by his seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
In addition to his family, Sam's legacy includes his love for fishing. He found profound happiness in taking others out on his boat and teaching them the art of fishing and he loved spending time fishing off the dock with family and friends. Sam, also known as Gramps, a title he cherished, loved spending time with his family and all his little fishing buddies. He also was known for and found great pleasure in leading them on secret cave explorations that created lasting memories. His quiet demeanor was complemented by an extraordinary generosity that touched everyone who knew him.
A man of faith, Sam attended Mt. Hope Freewill Baptist Church in Wheelersburg, Ohio, where he was known for his kind spirit and warm-hearted nature. He served honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War, contributing to his country in a non-combat role. His career as an electrician with Local Union 575, employed by Aristech, showcased his dedication and skill.
Samuel is preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn Jarrell; his father, Vinson S. Jarrell, Sr.; and his brother, Vinson S. Jarrell Jr. While we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the life he led and the love he shared.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember the warmth of his spirit and the love he imparted to all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. May he rest in peace.
