Ronald E. Ganslein, age 68, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 after a brief illness. He was born in Alliance, OH to the late Edward and Melba Ganslein. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Slippery Rock University. Ron spent many years as a swim coach in several locations around the country and later as a Recreation Coordinator and Case Manager for adults with developmental disabilities. In 2012, Ron and his wife Dianne (Lyon) fulfilled their long-time dream and bought a farm in Adams County, OH. Over the past 10 years, Ron combined his remarkably strong work ethic with a devotion to learn all he could about agriculture and built a working sheep farm now known as Ohio Valley Farm and Fiber Mill. Ron also had a passion for hunting and all things outdoors.

Although his various life endeavors brought him satisfaction, his most important role was that of father to his two beautiful daughters. He selflessly dedicated many years to being a stay-at-home dad and was fiercely protective of them as they were, without question, the pride and joy of his life.

He is survived by Dianne, his wife of 41 years, his daughters Sarah (London, England) and Rachael (Cincinnati, OH), his mother-in-law Sue Lyon, sister-in-law Carole Davey, and brother Dean (Asheville, NC).

Per his wishes, Ron was cremated, and the family is planning a celebration of life this spring.
