Rick "Ricky" L. Newsome, a devoted husband, beloved friend, and lifelong resident of Wheelersburg, Ohio, passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on March 3, 1968, in Port Clinton, Ohio, Ricky touched the lives of many with his unwavering kindness and spirited dedication.

With a strong work ethic that defined him, Ricky made a name for himself in the lawn care industry as a self-employed entrepreneur. His hands, often calloused from toil, brought beauty to countless yards, but it was the love for his craft and the pride he took in his work that shone even brighter. Beyond mowing lawns and tending gardens, Ricky found joy in working on his vehicles, letting the scent of oil and gasoline linger while he poured his heart into every engine he touched.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Newsome. Their bond was one of deep respect and adoration, a testament to the extraordinary love they shared throughout their lives together. He will be missed not only by Dorothy but also by his son Matthew Newsome, two step sons: J.R. (Anna) Ashley and Joseph Ashley, one brother, Charles (Sadie) Newsome, two sisters: Deborah (Alva) Queen and Carla (Joe) Harrington; five step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, as well the many friends and family who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Bennett and Judy (Nee Fout) Newsome and two brothers Randy and Steven Newsome.
