It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Paul H. Parker, beloved husband, dedicated friend, and esteemed member of the Portsmouth community. Born on November 2, 1939, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Paul departed from this world peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 85.
A proud Army veteran, Paul served his country with honor and commitment, before pursuing a cherished career as a chef, where his culinary talents brought joy and nourishment to many. A passionate member of the American Legion James Dickey Post #23, Paul found camaraderie and purpose among his fellow veterans.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul F. and Lena (Nee Perdue) Parker and two sisters, Charlotte Watkins and Patricia Craycraft.
Paul's life was rich with love, laughter, and cherished moments spent with his life partner, Suzanne. Together, they shared countless hobbies, including his favorite pastimes of bingo, gambling, and visits to local casinos. His home was made even more joyful by their loyal dog, Woof Woof, who provided companionship and delight. He was also survived by his one sister, Janet Balderson of Kettering and many friends and fellow veterans at James Dickey Post #23.
Paul will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his friends, family, and fellow veterans. His legacy will be carried on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
In keeping with Paul's wishes, his remains will be cremated. We encourage all who knew Paul to join in honoring his considerable impact on our lives. May he rest in peace.
