Marsha Gayle Chaffins, aged 63, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, passed away on March 30, 2024. Born in Huntington, West Virginia, on March 15, 1961, to Donald and Barbara Taylor, who both precede her in death alongside her beloved husband, Rev. Bryan Chaffins, and granddaughter Angel Faith Chaffins. Marsha's life was a testament to the enduring strength of love, faith, and family.
Marsha is survived by her cherished children, Bryan Chaffins Jr. (Misty Chaffins), Steffiny Ray (Chuck Ray), Rev. Gary Chaffins (April Chaffins), and Jill Hineman (Rev. Jared Hineman). Her legacy is further carried on by her adored grandchildren: Austin Ray, Brayden Chaffins, Ethan Hineman, Adryan Chaffins, Calee Chaffins, Cameryn Chaffins, Carly Ray, Carson Chaffins, Evan Hineman, and Ben Taylor who she claimed as her own.
She is also survived by her siblings, Patti Trotter (the late Ernie Trotter), Donald Taylor (Beverly Taylor), David Taylor (the late Pam Taylor), and Rod Taylor (Deanna Taylor), and was preceded in passing by her sisters Karen Adams (Charlie Adams), Judy Pennington (the late David Pennington), and Diana Taylor. Marsha embraced a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives with abundant love, treating every individual as her own.
Marsha's journey through life was also illumined by the steadfast companionship of her dear friend, Kellie Proffitt Freeman, a bond cherished deeply until Marsha's final days.
Guiding her role as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, was her relationship to Christ. Her unwavering faith was the foundation of her existence, providing strength, comfort, and guidance throughout her life. Marsha's commitment to her faith and family transformed her into a beacon of warmth and unwavering love, her legacy echoing through the lives of all who knew her.
A gathering and celebration of Marsha's life and faith will be held at The Grace Community Church at Bigelow, 415 Washington Street, Portsmouth, Ohio.
The service, officiated by her son, Rev. Gary Chaffins, will offer time for family and friends to gather in acknowledgment of Marsha's journey and to honor her passage home to be with the Lord.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 6, 2024, 11:00 AM until 12 Noon.
Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 12 Noon.
Marsha's departure from this world leaves a void in the hearts of many, yet her spirit, teachings, and love continue to inspire and comfort those she has left behind. We rejoice in knowing she has found peace in the presence of the Lord, reunited with loved ones passed, in a place of everlasting love and joy-Heaven.
