FC Daehler Mortuary
Mark Lee Adams, 65, of Lucasville, OH, passed away on July 10, 2025. Mark was born on June 10, 1960, to Gary Lee Adams and Linda Lou (nee Kelly) Phelps.
Mark proudly served in the United States Army, was a member of the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge #769, and dedicated his career to the City of Portsmouth Water Distribution Plant from which he retired.
Mark settled into his beloved "Holler," a place he cherished and never felt the need to leave. It was his sanctuary, where memories were made and laughter often echoed from the garage that became the heart of his home.
Mark is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anita (nee Strickland) Adams, with whom he shared a life of devotion. He was a proud father to his son, Tyler Adams of Lucasville, OH, and daughters Shannon (Brock) Duncan of Jackson, OH, and Shelly (John Jr.) Prior of Portsmouth, OH. His greatest joys came from time spent with his family, especially his cherished grandson, Graham Prior. He was excitedly awaiting the arrival of another grandson, baby Duncan in January 2026. Mark is also survived by his mother, Linda (nee Kelly) Phelps of San Jose, CA, his stepmother, Susan (nee Karn) Adams of Sapulpa, OK; his brothers Gary (Beth) Adams of Salpulpa, OK, Kelly Phelps of San Jose, CA, and Jason (Tausha) Stingley of Rogue River, OR; his sisters Michele Fleeman of Sapulpa, OK; Kristi Alvarado of San Jose, CA and many nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Gary Adams of Sapulpa, OK, and his loving grandparents.
Mark had a soft spot for his furry companions-his loyal dogs Scoot and Suzie, and his cat Focker-who were never far from his side.
His warmth, humor, and generous spirit will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Whether you were family, friend, neighbor, or someone lucky enough to share a beverage and a laugh in his garage, Mark made you feel welcomed, respected and loved.
There will be a celebration of life held at a later date and at the family's convenience. In this time of loss, we ask that you keep Mark's spirit alive in your hearts.
Yee Haw! If you know, you know.
