With heavy hearts and unwavering faith, we celebrate the beautiful life of Marilyn Leonard, who peacefully entered into eternal rest on August 3, 2026, just two days after celebrating her 72nd birthday.
Marilyn was a woman whose life was defined by love, faith, compassion, and service. She devoted her life to caring for others, both professionally as a dedicated nurse's aide and personally through the countless lives she touched every day. While her career reflected her nurturing spirit, her greatest joy and true calling was serving the Lord.
As a gifted liturgical dance teacher, Marilyn poured her heart into mentoring and inspiring young people throughout her community. Through worship, movement, and unwavering faith, she taught generations to express their love for God with confidence, grace, and joy. Her creativity knew no bounds, and her passion for ministry left an imprint that will continue to bless lives for years to come.
Above all, Marilyn was a devoted mother whose greatest accomplishment was her family. She was blessed with three children: her beloved identical twin daughters, Jasmine Johnson and Janessa Johnson, who was welcomed into Heaven as an infant, and her cherished oldest son, Jerrett Leonard (Sarah Wallace). Marilyn made certain her children were grounded in faith, and surrounded by unconditional love.
Her love extended to her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life. She leaves behind her grandsons, Jace Leonard and Ethan Leonard (Emily Leonard), her beloved granddaughter, Milan Winters, and her treasured great-granddaughter, Leighton Leonard, each of whom carried a special place in her heart.
Marilyn possessed a rare gift for making others feel seen, loved, and encouraged. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and steadfast faith became a source of strength for everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, Marilyn's legacy lives on in the faith she instilled, the family she cherished, the youth she inspired, and the countless lives forever changed by her kindness and devotion. Her love continues through every lesson she taught, every prayer she prayed, and every life she touched.
Her race is finished, her work is complete, and she now rests in the arms of her Savior.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and joyfully remembered until we meet again.
