It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lori Smith, who left us on Tuesday June 3, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on October 25, 1968, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Lori served others as a dedicated case manager in the Medicaid and Medicare industry. Her commitment to improving the lives of those around her showcased her compassionate spirit.

Lori was a proud resident of Portsmouth, with a high school diploma in hand, she began her career that would ultimately allow her to make a meaningful impact in her community. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time at cookouts, get togethers and vacations. She was crazy about her three dogs.

Though Lori's time with us was far too short, her legacy of kindness and empathy will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in the kindness she spread and the lives she changed.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents Gary Walters and Mary Smith. She was survived by her sisters: Tonya Smith, Cindy Smith, Crystal Smith-Steele, Patty (Jeff) Keaton all of Portsmouth, Jenny (Carlin) Russell of McDermott, Vurla (John) Douglass of Waverly; and one brother Gary (Misty) Walters of Wheelersburg.
