Katherine Denise Harris

Age 71, born on November 29, 1954, in Greenup County, Kentucky, to the late Mary K. Harris and Franklin Harris Sr., went to Heaven to rejoice and join her mom, dad, and longtime partner David E. Austin Sr., amongst other family members and friends on July 24, 2026.

She was a P.H.S. graduate and worked for several years at Hempstead Manor as a nurse's aide.

She was a very special woman known for her kindness, honesty, love, and affection. She always spoke her mind and kept it real! She was a wonderful, teaching, loving mother and grandmother. She never complained and enjoyed the simplest things in life.

She is survived by her only son, Milan G. Harris, and two granddaughters, Milaeh M. Harris and Iyanna L. Harris; her brothers, Franklin Harris Jr., Timothy Harris, and Tony Watt; her sisters, Carol Sue, Helena, Regina, Gwendolyn, Dee Dee Harris, Anita Watt, and Carmen McConnell; and special friends, Yvette Jordan, Patty Stanley, Frank Samuel, and Lavene Underwood. She also had several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends, some of whom live in other cities and states.

Services will be held at Allen Chapel AME Church in Portsmouth, Ohio, on August 12, 2026, at 12:00 noon. Come as you are to help celebrate her life and legacy and mourn her passing.
