Joy S. Saylor, a beloved soul, left this world on August 15, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on February 12, 1946, in Portsmouth, Ohio, Joy was the cherished daughter of the late John Anderson and Pauline (Nee Craft) Spencer. A tailoress by trade, she shared her love for creativity and craftsmanship where she brought fabric to life with her skilled hands.

Joy's heart was a tapestry woven with love and companionship. For over 20 beautiful years, she was the devoted partner of John Adams, who stood by her side in laughter and adventure. Together, they explored the beauty of life, sharing the joys of fishing, camping, and traveling to places that brought them happiness.

As a mother, she raised three sons-Robert, Eddie, and Jeff Lewis-infusing her nurturing spirit into each of their lives. Joy's family was her pride and joy, and she adored her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will fondly remember her warmth and kindness.

Joy was more than just her skill with a needle and thread; she was a lover of stories, both printed and sung. She delighted in reading and often found solace in the sweet melodies of classic country music and bluegrass.

May her gentle soul rest in peace, forever cherished by those who knew and loved her. The family is honoring her wishes to be cremated.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to be made to FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45612, or online at www.fcdaehlermortuary.com where you may also leave a special memory or condolences for the family.
