Jerry Thomas Franklin, 84 years old, longtime Scioto County resident, went home to be with the Lord on December 27, 2025, at Piketon Nursing Center in Piketon, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family.
Jerry was born on September 18, 1941, in Portsmouth, to the late Jesse and Ruby (Nee Ramey) Franklin.
He was united in marriage to Sharon (Nee McManus) Franklin for sixty years when she passed on September 18, 2018. For most of his adult years, he was the Associate Pastor and Choir Director at several churches. His love for the Lord was a testimony to others. His love for his family, especially his children and grandchildren was immeasurable. He enjoyed fishing, eating, singing and his cup of coffee at the kitchen table while reminiscing with others.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded by his loving wife, Sharon, seven siblings, one son, Jerry Matthew Franklin and three great grandsons: Ethan, Cash and Criden.
Jerry is survived by his two sons: Joe (Barbara) Franklin of Portsmouth, Sam Franklin of Lucasville, one daughter Becky (Dave) Caseman of Waverly, one sister, Sharon Franklin of Firebrick, KY, nine grandchildren: Aaron Franklin, Joevelyn (Paul) Morris, Marisue Hobbs, Sharanna (Derek) Leeth, Casey (Jerrica) Sword, Denny (Heather) Caseman, Sam (Brandi) Franklin II, Joey (Hope) Franklin, Jerrid Franklin and twenty-six great grandchildren.
Graveside Service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8580 Gallia Pike (County rd 1), Franklin Furnace, Ohio.
