Janet Arlene Nowlin , 84 of Minford, died Thursday June 6th, 2024 at the SOMC Inpatient Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born in New Boston, Ohio to the late Helen Fraley Lyons and Everett Fraley. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her 6 siblings.

After graduating high school, Janet came to Portsmouth to attend the St. Mary's school of Nurses Training. While in Portsmouth, she met and married the love of her life, James Darrell Nowlin, and remained devoted to him until her passing. Janet spent her life caring for others, whether through nursing, parenting, cooking, teaching Sunday school or piano lessons. She enjoyed spending time with her family, feeding her loved ones and playing praise and worship music at church. She will forever be remembered by her infectious smile and generous heart.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, James "Jay" Nowlin, 2 sons, James "Jim" (Ruth) Nowlin and Jeffrey "Jeff" Nowlin, 3 daughters Barbara "Barb" (Shawn) Clemmons, Angela "Angee" (Jaime) Tuggle, Deidra (Danny) Richardson and nephew Douglas "Doug" Fraley, 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
