Everett William Cook, age 62, of Portsmouth, Ohio, went home to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025. William passed away peacefully at home after a long illness.

William was born March 2, 1963, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Geneva Cook and David Cook, who both preceded him in death. William was raised by his grandmother, Margaret Cook, from the age of two months after his mother (Geneva) passed away. He was also preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Carla (Leslie) Cook, whom he married on December 24th, 2004; a sister, Loretta Hubbard of Portsmouth; and a brother, Everett Cook Jr. of New Boston. William had many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

William was a member of the Portsmouth Eagles Aerie 4285 for over 20 years. He was an avid pool player and loved a good challenge on the pool table, where he was hard to beat! He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. Through the summer months, he always had a plentiful supply of tomatoes and green beans.

William enjoyed spending time with family and friends, with whom many fond memories were made. He touched many hearts and will be fondly remembered.

A celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date at the Portsmouth Eagles.
