Erik Lael Bryant, aged 54, of Wurtland, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, after a courageous battle with natural causes. Born on May 8, 1971, in Ashland, Kentucky, Erik lived a life filled with passion for both his work and the simple joys of nature.

A dedicated diesel mechanic at Ashland Specialty, Erik possessed an extraordinary intelligence when it came to engines. His talent and expertise were unmistakable, whether he was repairing vehicles or identifying tugboats passing by on the river. He truly had a gift for understanding how things worked, which endeared him to friends, family, and coworkers alike.

Erik cherished the moments spent with his father, enjoying the peaceful pastime of feeding deer and birds while watching squirrels play from the porch. These simple moments were a reflection of his deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around him, and they encapsulated the kind, gentle spirit he shared with those he loved.

Erik is survived by his beloved father, Gerald Bryant of Wurtland, KY; his siblings: April (Tom) Graf of Franklin Furnace, Gerald Bryant II of Ashland, KY, and Heather Bryant of Lexington and Cathy (Andy) Carchide of Deering, NH; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of Erik's life will be held in the near future, where family and friends will gather to share memories and honor the impact he made on all of us. His remains will be cremated, with a location for the ceremony to be announced, ensuring that we can come together to remember the wonderful person he was and the joy he brought into our lives.

Erik was preceded in death by beloved mother, Mary Brineida, and devoted wife, Stephany (Nee Hopkins) Bryant.
