David Gershon McFadden (aka Mac), 84, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 2, 1941, in Lorraine, Ohio, and raised in Marion, Ohio, David's life was marked by dedication, passion, and an unyielding love for his family.

David was a mechanical/electrical engineer. His career left an incredible mark on the construction industry. From designing hospitals and towering high-rises to creating the prototype for the original Bob Evans in Chillicothe, Ohio, and the first TGI Fridays in Columbus, Ohio, David's work took him across the country and back. He took great pride in every project he was a part of.

David was also an avid photographer, a passion that led him to Yellowstone National Park each year. He would often spend hours in the mountains, lying on the ground to capture the perfect shot. He was always known for his dry sense of humor and his immense love for his family.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Burton McFadden and Doris McFadden Hickson, as well as his stepfather, John Hickson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carole Roe McFadden. He is also survived by his brother Dennis (Tracy) McFadden of Mckinney, Texas, daughters Kimberly of Yakima, Washington and Sandra of Pomona, California, 5 grandchildren Len Fuentes, Ashley Koons, Anton Malsam, Josh Malsam, and David Malsam, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including Charles Roe whom he helped raise and great-nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at Christ Sanctuary Church in Sciotoville, Ohio, on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Family and friends are invited to gather at 4:00 PM with a service to begin at 5:30 pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FC Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662, or visit www.fcdaehlermortuary.com to leave a special memory of David or condolences for his family.
