Dan Edward Wells, Wheelersburg resident, passed away on January 16th, 2026 at the age of 71 years He was born July 14th, 1954 to Edward and Wilhelmia (nee Smith) Wells in Portsmouth, OH.

Dan worked as an electrician for most of his life. He loved his Hamm radio, traveling, fishing, jokes, horses and dogs. He especially loved farm life, and enjoyed bush hogging at any hour of the day. Dan also loved time with family spent around the dinner table.

He is preceded in death by is parents, and a son, Avery Smith of Portsmouth.

Dan is survived by his wife, Phyllis (nee Dunham) Wells of Wheelersburg; his sons, Dan Wells II of Portsmouth, and Johnathan Smith of Ashland, KY; His daughters, Jennifer (Matt) Kochis of Mt. Vernon, OH, Liza (Scott) Noble of South Portsmouth, KY, Laura (Chris) Mullins of Portsmouth, and Misty Smith of Chesapeake, OH. Dan is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
