Cynthia "Cindy" Darby Royster, 70, of Wheelersburg, Ohio passed away on June 11, 2025 at home with her family by her side.

Cindy was born on September 9, 1954 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Charles and Marcella Darby.

If you knew Cindy, she was talented at woodworking, drawing, gardening and quilting. She worked alongside her late companion Gary Hobson in building houses. After they retired, Cindy decided to go back to school and get her GED. Once she completed her GED, she went on to obtain a bachelor's degree and then a Master of Education in Professional Counseling. 

Along with her parents, she was preceded by four brothers, Glenn, Charles, Dennis and John Darby and one sister, Yvonne McCleese.

Surviving are her two children, The Honorable Michelle (BJ) Hackman of Florence, SC and Johnny Allen, M.Ed., LICDC of Wheelersburg, Ohio. Four grandchildren, Colton (Aynsley) Hackman of Florence, SC, Katelyn (Jacob) Allen of Florence, SC, Elizabeth (Trey) Allen of Jacksonville, FL and Nikkie Allen of Wheelersburg, OH. One great-grandchild, Maya Rae Tyndall of Florence, SC. One honorary daughter, Beth Crabtree of McDermott, Ohio. She is also survived by a number nieces and nephews who will greatly miss her.
