Bruce L. Myers, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 23, 2026, at the age of 45. Bruce as born to his parents Robert and Caroline Myers on February 15, 1981 in Baltimore, Maryland. A longtime resident of Portsmouth, Ohio, Bruce was known for his kind heart, hardworking spirit, and genuine love for his family.
Bruce worked for many years in the restaurant industry, working both as a server and in catering. In 1998, he and Josie Austin began a relationship that would lead to 12 years of a loving and devoted marriage. Family meant everything to Bruce, and he had a particularly special bond with his grandson, Luke. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, building things, including swing sets, listening to heavy metal music, and cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Baltimore Ravens. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Caroline Myers, and his brother, Clarence Myers III.
He is survived by his wife, Josie Myers (née Austin); his sons, Bruce Myers II and Bradon Myers of Portsmouth, and Jacob (Katrina) Williams of Florida; his grandson, Luke Myers of Sciotoville; his sister, Tracy Myers of West Portsmouth; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to F.C. Daehler Mortuary Co. to assist with Bruce's final arrangements. Contributions may be made in person at 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, Ohio, or by calling (740) 353-4146. Every act of generosity is deeply appreciated by the family during this difficult time.
