Harold H. Danes

Harold H. Danes, Jr., 79 years old, known by his friends as "Sponge", passed away on Wednesday, June 16th, 2021, at SOMC Hospice. He was born on August 13th, 1941 to Harold H. Danes, Sr. and Grace L. (Nee Clark) Danes. Harold was a member of the New Boston Eagles for over 60 years, worked at the local Steel Mill for 22 years, 20 years as a Carpenter for Local #437. Harold was also a skilled painter and craftsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Raymond and Jerry Danes. He is survived by his wife Alberta (Nee Milliron) Danes of Portsmouth, two daughters, Sherri (Rusty) Chaney of Chillicothe, and Mary Murnahan of Portsmouth, one nephew, Anthony R. Danes of Red Bluff, California, three grandsons: Aaron, Caleb and Logan Chaney, and a very special granddaughter, Karleigh Murnahan-Webb of The Woodlands, Texas. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21st, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 22nd, at 12:00 NOON, all at F.C. Daehler Mortuary, 915 Ninth Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662. Interment immediately following service in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg, OH.
